My name is Wyatt Jackson, and I am twenty-one years old, and I’m from Westlake Village, CA.
I attend vocational school at Agoura High School. I have been painting since I was a year old. I have autism and work with my mom to raise money for other kids with autism by selling my art.
I love to use acrylic paint on recycled cartons to make my art, as well as painting acrylics on canvas. My mom told me I am an Eco-Artist, and I call my art WyArt.
When I was 16, I won an Award of Excellence given by the California State PTA for my painting “The Colors of My Mind”, which was acrylic on a recycled wine carton. Mixing different colors is my favorite thing to do.
For the last year, I have been studying art with the internationally known artist and painter, Paola Luther. I have been selling my art and am frequently commissioned to paint people’s pets. I have painted close to 60 dog portraits for people all around the country. I was recently commissioned to paint a logo for a goat farm in Hawaii. I have shown my art at local shows and in February was the featured artist at Mychal’s Learning Place, a nonprofit benefitting adults with developmental disabilities.
My favorite artist is Picasso. He said that every child is an artist. He also said, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose is to give it away.”
